Teaching children the skills they need for future success, through a Curriculum that follows their ideas and interests.

Babysaurus 0-18months

Through nurturing, responsive relationships with the Keyperson, your child will be supported and guided through their learning.

During their time in the Babysaurus room your child will be learning new skills that will aid a smooth transition into the Supersaurus room.

We will support them in…

  • Developing secure attachments when parting from main carer
  • Being confident movers as they learn to move in a range of
    ways, crawling, rolling climbing and walking
  • Independence skills at mealtimes
  • Recognise and follow the transition songs, following a routine
  • Join in activities with other children and adults
  • Developing language through simple sounds and use of
    Makaton.
  • Recognise things that belong to them, comforter, shoes
  • Trying a range of wholesome cooked food
  • Exploring with all their senses with messy play fun

Supersaurus Up to 36 months

As children learn through their play, they develop a sense of awe and wonder as they engage in new experiences. A safe place to take risks and gain confidence in their growing abilities, Supersaurus creates confident learners.

Your child will develop …

  • Language to communicate needs, wants and assistance
  • Independence skills in dressing routines
  • Toilet training
  • Decision making skills, being to able to make a choice
  • Understanding of cause and effect as they experiment with marks made
  • Use of cutlery of meal times, knife and fork for cutting 
  • Good hygiene practices washing their hands, wiping their nose
  • Table manners using please and thankyou
  • Turn taking and negotiating skills
  • A love of nature and being outdoors
  • Physical skills as they climb, pull, slide and jump on the soft play

Raptors & Trex- Preschool

Curiosity and exploration are key skills needed as the children embark on the final stage of their Early Years Learning. In Preschool the children will experience rich activities to stimulate their minds and allow their creativity to flourish.

Our daily Forest School sessions support the development of emotional wellbeing and self-esteem as children explore their natural environment, making a connection with nature. Bush craft skills with tools develop children’s growing confidence in their abilities as well as risk taking developing resilience to keep trying. Den building, pond dipping and cooking on the campfire are some of the experiences they will have during these sessions.

School Readiness

By the time your child leaves us to go to school, they will have the skills needed to support them through all areas of learning; Independence skills, Resilience to keep on trying, Confidence and language skills to ask for help and a love of learning.

To achieve this we will…

  • Introduce phonics daily through activities and Jolly Phonics
  • Develop mark making to form recognisable shapes and letters
  • Gain awareness of Emotional Literacy understanding our
    emotions and the emotions of others
  • Build a range of vocabulary through themed weeks and a joy of stories and songs
  • Use a range of one handed tools for wood work, sewing and Forest School
  • Gain understanding of how to keep ourselves safe through risk taking, PANTS and road safety weeks
  • Build on dressing skills to be able to change into our PE kits for
    yoga sessions
  • Read stories, recognizing rhyming words and alliteration
  • Ride a bike, moving around objects and gaining special
    awareness
  • Independent with toileting routines
